I've been going to the gym for month now. Compared to my old gym this gym doesn't compare. I work out at 4am and the gym is an absolute disaster no weights are ever re reracked, no organization, and lacks machines that I find very useful. It gets the job done but even at 4am it gets to crowded for me sometimes. The layout sucks too.
I've gone into this location twice. The first time was to sign up and the second time was to talk to a trainer to see what I could do better in my life. My husband and I don't make much money and we can only afford the $10 a month memberships (since we're both volunteer fire fighters) He was very nice in the beginning and showed me a workout routine and at the end he blindsided me with how much it would cost for me to pretty much hire him as my trainer. Once I said how tight our budget is and told him I couldn't afford it, it was almost like a totally different person was sitting Infront of me. He rolled his eyes and dang near aggressively balled up the papers we were working on. He was tall and I believe had red hair and was obviously very fit compared to my post partum body. Rudest person I've come into contact with at the gym. I refuse to go back to that location even though I've seen him at other golds doing the whole nice guy show. It's rude how he acted. I understand that he's trying to make money but there should be a statement when you set up an appointment to talk to someone that they're trying to be your personal trainer.
Do yourself a favor...go to another gym, Gold's Gym is NOT worth the headache.
This gym is ok, nothing to run home about. The women's sauna is ALWAYS broken. However the main reason for my review is the HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. When you come in ready to sign up and get your life together there are several friendly knowledgeable people there ready to give you a tour and sign you up and take your credit card information. But the minute you sign on the dotted line all of that goes right out the window. I have called and visited several times to complain about an issue and was told "oh a manager isn't here" or "oh that person left already." Its not like I came in at 9:45pm or something I came in right after work....its not even 6pm yet. Was told to call the 800 number....no one there can help me either. What really set me off was this recent "annual fee." I guess I understand the reason for an annual fee even though I was charged a sign up fee and my monthly fee but sure go ahead and take some more of my money for sub par service. The annual fee is once a year and they send NO REMINDERS!! Its 2017 and if a company can set up for payments to be taken out on a set day then they sure as hell can send email reminders to their customers. I understand I signed a contract but good customer service would be to remind people. I CAN NOT WAIT to my contract runs out for this gym. Best believe I have that date circled on my calendar.
First off , it was my first time for visiting golds at Marley station with a friend of mine that is crazy about dead lifting a lot and he's been trying to get me to try out golds gym for a long time and it's a shame that my expectations were correct. The front desk staff were extremely rude for not answering a visitors question of where certain machines may be located while the desk staff were talking to each other and conversing over some very ilexplicit conversation about some very inappropriate conversation, I was left standing at the front counter waiting for my visitor id back for over a 1/2 an hour. Will not ever join this gym and would not highly recommend this gym to anyone in this Glen Burnie area. I will definitely join planet fitness first then to join a ill mannered place to work out and for treating guests rudely and inappropriately for first time visitors.
My girlfriend goes here. She goes at 4am every morning. The gym is always dirty, overflowing trash cans, bottles of water and paper towels laying out, equipment not put back. Also, the employee(s) are consistently late, whether it's 2 mins, 5 mins, hell sometimes even 20 mins. Hire new employees who will get to their job on time and clean up!
