They were very condescending and had no empathy at all. I have never been been spoken to so rudely in my life.
I have been a Retail Manager for 26 years and I was shocked at how unprofessional and condescending they were to me. When I asked for the General Manager's phone #...I was told that he is never in the store and doesn't like talking to people!!?????
ZERO STARS !!! IF I COULD GIVE THIS NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD... SO I MADE A RESERVATION WITH THEM ONLINE THROUGH THE WEBSITE 5 DAYS BEFORE THE DAY I WOULD PICK UP THE CAR.. GOT A RESERVATION CONFIRMATION NUMBER AND FIGURED I WAS ALL SET TO PICK UP CAR ON THE UPCOMING SATURDAY MORNING.. NOT !!! I GET THERE SATURDAY MORNING AND THEY TELL ME ALL CARS ARE SOLD OUT / RENTED TO OTHERS!!! I ASK WHAT GOOD IS THE RESERVATION NUMBER THEY GAVE ME AND THE GUY AT COUNTER GIVES ME A LAME EXPLANATION YOU HAVE TO READ THE PRINT AT THE END THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF A CAR, OR SOME B S LIKE THAT!! WHAT A PIECE OF S___ OUTFIT THIS IS - NEVER AGAIN...
To make a very long story shorter...the 2013 Ford Focus that I rented WAS a "wreck"! A piece of the bumper was broken and it fell off by the time I got home. They told me to put a piece of tape on it. 3 hours into what should have been a 7 hour trip...the transmission stalls. They told me they would cross their fingers and hope I made it. After 10 hours and numerous breakdowns my brother went to check the transmission fluid and there was none in it because there was no feeder tube and no dipstick! High beams didn't work, inside light was broken...and more. I was a whole day late getting home because my brother had to make the repairs himself because I did not have the money to take it to a repair shop. When I returned the car I offered to call it even if they would give me a full refund. The owner agreed. 4 days later the money was not refunded and I never got the deposit back. When I called to find out what had happened.....they kept changing their story and they actually had the nerve to tell me ..
"Well the car made it down there and made it back didn't it???"
The office is closed on Sunday, but they told we that a car would be waiting for us with the key hidden under passenger's side floor mat. In order to have the car waiting for us on Sunday, they made us pay $150.00 deposit on our credit card over the phone, something we found out later was illegal. We arrived at 5am on Sunday morning after a $25.00 taxi ride. We searched the lot for over an hour and a half and there was NO car for us. We called the emergency number they gave us, and there was NO answer! We searched some more and called again. There was NO response. In preparation for the Sunday pickup, we had called Rent a Wreck at noon the day before on Saturday to remind tham that we were arriving at 5am on Sunday, and we needed the car as promised. He agreed to have the car waiting for us, but asked us to call him again at 4pm on Saturday to remind him again. We did call him again at 4pm on Saturday to remind him again to have the car waiting for us on Sunday.. All of this calling and reminding did us no good, as there was no car for us on Sunday. When we arrived on Sunday at 5am, we had been on a all night flight, were very tired and were placed in a very bad situation trying to find a car last minute on a Sunday morning. We had to get another taxi ride to the airport in order to find a rental car. Later, when we contacted Rent a Wreck consumer service, they took no responsibility for the situation nor did the owner of the branch. Our best advise, do not deal with these people, take your business somewhere else!
